Composition Standards: International standards require a bone ash content of at least 30% for bone china, while British standards require at least 36% to qualify as genuine bone china. We use a bone ash content of 45β50%.
Hand-applied decals + 24K gold detailing
It is not a printed design; master artisans in Limoges applied each element individually with tweezers before hand-painting the gold accents. The gold rims are made of genuine gold, and the piece is fired in the kiln three times to set the finish.
Translucent
It is translucent when held against the light, and a light tap with the fingertips produces a crisp, metallic sound.
Firing
Three kiln firings: 1400Β°C high-temperature bisque firing, 1250Β°C glaze firing, and 800Β°C gold-firing.
